Location description. South of the village of Chaumont-en-Vexin is an old abandont sand quarry. In this quarry, lower and middle Lutetian sandy limestones were accessible. This site, which is sometimes referred to as the "Darcy-site", after the former owner, was rich in fossil shells, corals, echinoids and shark teeth. Nowadays, the site is property of the municipallity of Chaumont-en-Vexin.
